Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments in sport go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.
So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days.
Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...

1) Hoy’s classy response to Glasgow snub – Hoy in ‘who are ya?’ moment
It is fair to say that Sir Chris Hoy is a world famous athlete. And, as such, should be fairly recognisable to his fellow countrymen.
However, that was not the case when he tried to gain entry to a cycling event at the Commonwealth Games. What makes the situation all the more odd was the event was held at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
Cue a raft of incredulous tweets, led by non-other than the Daily Record.
However, credit Hoy he showed the class that marked him out as an exceptional athlete by absolving the member of staff in question of any blame for the debacle.

2) MLS club troll Lampard New York City move
The former Chelsea star signed on Wednesday to much fanfare but rivals Seattle Sounders could not resist the temptation to have a little dig at their New York counterparts.
They tweeted a picture jokingly asking whether City’s new star man could ‘conjure fire?’
Well played Seattle!

4) Freddy Adu signs for 10th club
Freddy Adu – once touted as being the future of football in America – has joined his 10th team in as many seasons.
The former teenage prodigy who was hyped up as "the next Pele" when he was just 14 years of age has joined FK Jagodina in Serbia.
Adu amazingly only turned 25 last month after a career which has already seen him have spells with limited success in places as diverse as Portugal, France, Greece, Turkey and Brazil.

5) Gary Neville’s shocking snub to United legendPeter Schmeichel and Gary Neville were once very close but, as the below Vine shows, that may have changed.
While a fair few years old, this video has just gone viral.
Neville is United through and through – and that is clear from this vine of the Sky Sports analyst completely blanking United legend Schmeichel after his move to Manchester City.
It really is incredible stuff.
Schmeichel’s reaction is quite priceless too as he seems to expect the reaction as he just smirks and gets on with things.
