Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments at huge sports events go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.
So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days in Brazil with the World Cup throwing up some wonderful stories.
Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...

1) ADORABLE! Little girl sobs over Neymar's heartbreaking injury
Well, she wasn't the only person crying over Neymar's ill-timed broken vertebrae, but little Gabi Romano was very likely the sweetest.
The video, uploaded by her family, bears a title which can be translated as "Gabi Romano suffered along with Neymar Jr as Brazil played Colombia at the World Cup!"
Quite how the poor little girl is going to cope without Neymar on the field against Germany in the semi-finals is anyone's guess. We just hope for her sake that Brazil do not go out on penalties.

2) OOOOOOOHHHHHH, OH, HE'S OKAY! - Argentina boss 'nearly faints', mocked on Twitter
His posture remained perfect as he tilted back in astonishment towards the point of no return.
Sabella regained his senses just in time to avoid crashing onto the turf – breaking into an impromptu stumble instead. Watch the amusing incident below:

3) FAN MAY REGRET THIS ILL-ADVISED BANNER - France fan risks the sack and divorce with World Cup banner
It is best not to lie, this we all know. It is particularly the case when it comes to your boss and wife, as many men can testify.
This big France fan may well wish that he instead stayed at home and/or told the truth after clearly telling a few fibs before embarking on his secret adventure.
With France's World Cup run ended abruptly by Germany, he may now have to explain why it is that he wasted so much money going to Brazil when it had nothing to do with his family or his work.

4) WELL, IF THE CAP FITS... - Shearer shows his 'cool' side with much-mocked pic
Yes, he's done it. Alan Shearer has posed on Twitter wearing one of Rio Ferdinand's '5 Unity' caps, and it's not a pretty sight.
The pair are sharing a sofa as part of BBC's World Cup coverage, but they found the time to 'play dress up' in Rio on Saturday night with Shearer going all out for the cool-cap look.
Ferdinand tweeted: "oi oi go on Big Al in the #5Unity!" Indeed.

5) 'ARGENTINA! ARGENTINA! ARGENTINA!' - Messi's biggest fan poses after huge win
Lionel Messi's biggest fan, his girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo, took to Instagram to mark Argentina's progress into the World Cup semi-finals after posing for celebratory pictures.
Roccuzzo stood outside the stadium in Brasilia along with two friends in replica kits after Messi's side edged out Belgium thanks to the winning goal from Gonzalo Higuain.
The 26-year-old sported a shirt with the famous number 10 on it as she turned out to support Messi, and she can now return for the semi-final against the Netherlands along with her good friends to cheer on her man.
