There’s something about the Dutch.
That ability to see what others can’t, to try the impossible and to pull it off with a cool confidence that no other nation can match.
Makes you sick, doesn’t it?
But let’s not let envy cloud our appreciation of this little slice of perfection from Excelsior’s Jordan Botaka against Go Ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie.
The former Dutch Under-19 international opened the scoring with a simply gorgeous backheel from the edge of the six yard box.
There’s plenty to admire, but nothing can top the way Botaka’s imaginative shot completely wrong-foots goalkeeper Erik Cummins.
Cummins got his own back later in the match, though - by scoring this fabulous fluke of a goal from inside his own half.
