European Team of the Week: Teen slayer of Milan makes cut

After his remarkable four-goal performance against AC Milan at the weekend, it was no surprise to see Sassuolo’s teenage striker Domenico Berardi make our European Team of the Week.

Berardi hit the target with seven of his eight efforts and his deadly display ultimately resulted in the sacking of Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri as the Rossoneri lost 4-3 to the Serie A strugglers.

Joining Berardi in attack is Luis Suarez, who scored another two goals in Liverpool’s win over Stoke.

In fact – with the Bundesliga on hiatus – there were a number of Premier League representatives, and from clubs outside the elite.

Adam Johnson had to be included after his hat-trick for Sunderland at Fulham while West Ham keeper Adrian was also recognised after making seven saves in a win over Cardiff.

Leighton Baines and David Luiz also warranted inclusion.

For Opta's full reasoning for each player's inclusion, see the table below the team graphic....
