European Team of the Week: Carlos causes chaos

While Liverpool managed to get five players in our Premier League team of the week, they could manage just two in the European version based on Opta stats.

There was no way that Luis Suarez was going to be left out but he is partnered in attack by a former Premier League star in the shape of Carlos Tevez who helped himself to a hat-trick against Sassuolo.

Jordan Henderson is in midfield with two more Premier League midfielders in the shape of Theo Walcott and Fernandinho and they are joined by Bayern Munich's Spanish schemer Thiago Alcantara.

Phil Jones failed to make our Premier League team of the week, but the stats are more friendly to him than the views of our reporters as he makes the European starting XI.

He is paired at the back by Mönchengladbach's Tony Jantschke while the full-back positions are filled up by Seamus Coleman (Everton) and Layvin Kurzawa (Guingamp).

Finally, anyone who plays Spanish fantasy football and was lucky enough to have Granada's Roberto in goal this weekend cleaned up as he enjoyed a clean sheet and had eight saves against Rayo Vallecano.
