Iceland international Alfred Finnbogason was supposed to be enjoying one of the best nights of his career this week when attending an award ceremony.

The 25-year-old, who this summer moved from Heerenveen to Real Sociedad, was in Amsterdam to collect an award for being the top goalscorer in the Dutch Eredivisie last season.

Finnbogason scored a remarkable 29 goals in 32 games for Heerenveen and returned to the Netherlands to collect his prize.

However, it was at this point, under the hot studio lights, that the striker started to feel a bit queasy.

As you can see in the video here, Finnbogason suddenly felt unwell and the presenter had to call for assistance from the crew as the Sociedad star started getting uneasy on his feet. Finnbogason then went to the floor and received treatment, before clambering back up to accept the award that his efforts so richly deserved.

And what about legendary Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was on hand to help present the award?

Well, he seemed to find it rather funny – at least at the start.

In fact, Van Nistelrooy's behaviour rather reminded us of this inglorious moment in Steven Gerrard's career...
