When a thug threw a cigarette lighter at Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo during his side's Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, the world of football was instantly shocked by the scenes.
All except Sergio Ramos, who laughed so hard that you'd think he'd just heard the original "Ronaldo attacked by flame thrower" headline Early Doors had in mind for this article.
There is an innocent explanation: the two were laughing and joking as they went off at half-time while already 2-0 up (and 5-0 up on aggregate), and it appears that Ramos originally thought that his Portuguese team-mate was making some sort of gag with his ducking motion. He quickly realised that there was nothing funny about the attack on Ronaldo.
The Ballon d'Or winner was genuinely hurt by the lighter, needing treatment after being hit squarely on the head - but he was able to return to action after half-time.
Police have since caught up with the Atletico supporter who threw the lighter, and will charge him over the offence - while Atletico will also face a hefty fine.
It marked a busy old night for Ronaldo, incidentally: not only had he scored two goals and been hit by an opponent, he'd also been lucky to escape a red card for a challenge that left an opponent with whiplash!
