Manchester City ‘win race to sign 14-year-old new Messi’

Manchester City have swooped to complete the signing of 14-year-old wonderkid Brahim Abdelkader Diaz according to a report from Spanish newspaper Marca.

Barcelona were believed to be in hot pursuit of the Malaga starlet, only for the Premier League club to nip in and sign him ahead of a group of top European rivals.

The player's family were reportedly in negotiations with City for some time and this week the two parties finally reached an agreement.

Diaz is believed to be set to fly to Manchester next week with City having reportedly paid £300,000 up front for the wonderkid.

The final deal is understood to be worth £2.4 million depending on what the player goes on to achieve at the Etihad Stadium.

Diaz has been dubbed 'the new Messi' with Barcelona this time missing out on their man.
