Did David Moyes take over Manchester United’s Twitter account?

During his ill-fated spell as Manchester United manager, David Moyes developed something of a reputation for putting his foot in his mouth.

When Liverpool were coming to Old Trafford, Moyes was never forgiven for suggesting that they were favourites.

No matter that Liverpool promptly proved him right by destroying United 3-0.

When they also faced Manchester City in March, fans were furious when he said United should "aspire" to play like their local rivals.

No matter that City stormed to the title by scoring 102 goals.

And on Sunday, as they laboured to a 1-1 draw against Sunderland, Manchester United's own Twitter account seemed to adopt a very Moyesian outlook.

Rather unsurprisingly, it didn't go down well at all. Clearly United fans don't appreciate a dose of realism... Still, at least it wasn't as cringeworthy as this abomination:
