It is silly season when it comes to the transfer window and everyone is scrambling around for the type of clues that can turn a rumour into something more substantial.

Rumours have been growing in the last couple of days that Arsenal could be about to hijack Liverpool's move for Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez and some social media activity from the player's agent might just get Gunners' fans excited.

That is because Sanchez's agent, Fernando Felicevich, has only gone and started following Arsenal's official Twitter account as well as stars at the club Oliver Giroud, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Mesut Ozil.

It all could just be a coincidence, but it does seem rather strange that he would start following this block of Arsenal accounts just as rumours were increasing that his client is on his way to the Emirates.

As we noted in Friday's Paper Round Sanchez is emerging as the player Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to make his marquee summer signing, throwing a spanner in the works of Liverpool's attempts to include the Chilean striker in a deal over Luis Suarez.

The Daily Star was among the papers to report the Gunners' intentions to hijack Liverpool's attempts to land the Barcelona star, who is unwilling to be included as a makeweight in a deal that would take Suarez from Anfield to the Nou Camp and he would also prefer to move to London than Liverpool.

Sanchez has also been linked with Juventus, but while Felicevich does follow some other football clubs and players, there has been no sudden rush from him to follow people associated with a single club, quite like his recent Arsenal following spree.
