‘Absolutely devastated I have to drive this’ – Premier League star’s nightmare week

The famous 'Crossbar Challenge' is one of the more familiar modes of football 'banter' and a staple of the modern-day training session.

So when a Angel Rangel of Swansea lost out to his team-mates at the tail end of a midweek session, he was left to accept a rather unfortunate punishment.

The Swansea full-back was given the dubious honour of driving around a bright pink Suzuki Vitara with pretty butterflies stamped on the roof and sides.

Yes, even the wheels were given the full treatment with fluorescent paint plastered all over them in different colours.

With bright pink and yellow daisies covering the front of the car and lurid seatbelts to match, it really is a sight to behold.

Footballers are usually to be found driving away from the training ground in a blacked-out 4x4 or gold-studded Bentley, but this makes for a nice change from the norm.

Rangel has become a hugely popular figure during his time at the Welsh club. He and his wife were praised by fans last year after driving around the snowy streets of Swansea looking for homeless people to help.

Fans took to social media to praise the actions of the pair, with one having said that Rangel is in danger "of giving footballers a good name".

The Spanish defender had first said on Twitter: "Anyone knows the location of homeless people in Swansea? I got food going spare! #randomtweet"

Rangel has been a regular in the Swansea side and a very popular figure among fans since signing for the club back in 2007.
