Live Comments

  1. 6-4 - Murray closes out the match in commanding fashion and will face Djokovic tomorrow in the quarter-finals. A see-saw performance from Murray, but what matters is the result!

  2. 5-4 - Wawrinka's not out of this yet. He holds.

  3. 5-3 - Neat hold by Murray, and he's now one game away from the quarters. He begins Wawrinka's service game with a lovely forehand volley to go ahead 15-0. That's more like it!!

  4. 4-3 - MURRAY BREAKS!! This has been a strange performance from the Scot, but he appears to have found his game at the key moment.

  5. 3-3 - Murray stubbornly holds serve, and on we go with serve. It's coming to down to the crunch now. A break now would be huge.

  6. 2-3 - Wawrinka won't be broken, however, and the Swiss keeps things with serve courtesy of a couple of authoritative points. Missed opportunity for Murray.

  7. 2-2 - Cracking backhand pass on the run from Murray, who takes Wawrinka to deuce on his serve. That was a gem of a shot!

  8. 2-2 - With serve with we go, and this final set is shaping up to be a tense affair.

  9. 1-1 - Murray holds his serve. That was a solid game, and he showed signs of recovery. He needs to dig deep here. Wawrinka has the momentum.

  10. 0-1 - Murray yells out in frustration as Wawrinka wraps up the first game of the final set with relative comfort.

  11. 0-6 - What a remarkable turnaround in this match! Wawrinka is dictating things now and he's brought the match level with a "doughnut" in the second set.

  12. 0-4 - ANOTHER BREAK FOR WAWRINKA!! Murray has capitulated. The form he showed early on has evaporated and his opponent is taking advantage in fine fashion. Knee injury? What knee injury. His trainer has worked miracles.

  13. 0-3 - The Swiss then holds with aplomb and suddenly he appears in the ascendancy.

  14. 0-2 - Well well!! Wawrinka breaks the Murray serve and maybe this match is set for a turn.

  15. 0-1 - Wawrinka holds to take the first game of the second set. The sun is beating down in Toronto, and this should be another good test of Murray's suped-up fitness.

  16. 6-2 - There's the first set! Murray has been dominant. He's striking the ball early and looks totally at ease on the court.

  17. 5-2 - Wawrinka helps himself to a second game, but MURRAY WILL SERVE FOR THE SET.

  18. 5-1 - Another comfortable hold for Murray, whose forehand is working a treat today. He looks relaxed and confident, and on the evidence so far will progress with ease to the quarters.

  19. 4-1 - Wawrinka gets on the scoreboard with a hold. The knee seemed to hold up to the task, but only time will tell.

  20. 4-0 - Murray holds with ease. There could be problems here for Wawrinka, his knee is troubling him and he requires an injury break.

  21. 3-0 - MURRAY BREAKS AGAIN!! This is tidy stuff. He's really waiting his time on points and inviting Wawrinka to attack. The mistakes are flowing from his opponent.

  22. 2-0 - WALLOP!!! WHAT A WINNER FROM MURRAY!! He leans into a short approach from Wawrinka and absolutely smites it down the line. This is impressive stuff so far, very impressive.

  23. 1-0 - Murray gets an early chance to break, and takes it with aplomb. WHAT A START FOR THE SCOT! He came out and immediately went for his shots.

  24. 0-0 - Wawrinka will serve first, in a match that will earn the winner a meeting with Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals.

  25. - - Good afternoon ladies and gentleman! It's time for Britain's number one to take the court in Toronto. He's up against Stanislas Wawrinka, with a quarter-final spot the reward for the victor.
