Another long baseline rally results in another unforced forehand error by Wawrinka and another CHAMPIONSHIP POINT for Novak Djokovic, and this time he takes it with a glorious forehand winner into the far Ad corner! The Australian Open takes the 4-6 6-3 6-3 victory and his tenth career ATP title.
40-40 - Djokovic books his first CHAMPIONSHIP POINT on his rival's serve, pressing Wawrinka into the backhand error and the Swiss saves with a service winner. DEUCE.
5-3 - Djokovic belts a forehand winner down the line to get to 40-0 and seems frustrated with himself out there despite easily wrapping up the hold to 15 to move within one game of a fourth career Masters shield and first on clay.

Djokovic breaks to 15! The Australian Open champion pressing his rival into error after error, has shifted the course of this match - perhaps irreversibly.

4-6 - Stan-the-Man looking more and more like the man, doing beautifully to wrong-foot his rival with a forehand to get to 30-30 and then grabbing a SET POINT thanks to a careless forehand error from the Serbian.... And Wawrinka confirms an incredible opening set 6-4 and looks headed for another major upset in Rome!

Remember, if Novak Djokovic wins this title and then does so again next week, he will overtake the longstanding world number two Rafael Nadal as the second best player in the ATP rankings. The 20-year-old Serbian shows the tenacity that has helped him to such a high point so early in his young career, and saves both to get back to DEUCE.
