    • - So nothing has really changed in the group - Italy still have to beat Scotland to go through and Portugal continue to win friends - thanks for joining us for our coverage.
    • FT The Italians manage to get the ball to half way but that is all and there will be no bonus point for Italy - they have the win though - 30-5.
    • 79' Into the last minute and Portugal have a five metre scrum but the ball is turned over by the Italians who instead of kicking for touch decide to play it out.
    • 77' And it leads it a VERY nice third try - as De Marigny's little chip over the defence is gathered under the posts by Masi for his second try of the game. Bortolussi converts with ease - 31-5 now.
    • 76' Portugal looking tired now and understandably so given the amount of tackles they have put in. Italy with a line-out 10 metres out here.
    • 72' Italy finally get their second try - as their forwards finally show their muscle as Bergamasco eventually powers over the line after a 20 metre try off a line-out. Bortolussi can't get the tough conversion though - 24-5.
    • 70' 10 minutes to go and the score is still only 19-5 - Scotland will hardly be shaking in their boots after this performance.
    • 67' Orlando knocks on after a tough pass from Beramasco - great run by the Italian flanker though.
    • 66' The less active Pinto this evening - scrum-half Jose as opposed to fly-half Duarte - is forced off with an injury.
    • 65' Portugal turn the ball over again in the Italian half and Bortolussi does really well to gather a mark in the corner after a great kick from Pinto.
    • 64' Both sides making lots of changes now - so many that I can't keep up!!! Don't worry though if any of them do anything of note I'll let you know.
    • 62' Italy finally get on the board in this half - Bortolussi again kicks a penalty from about 40 metres - pretty straight but he just manages to squeeze it in - 19-5. The penalty came for offsides after some decent play from the Italians. 19-5
    • 61' Portugal make a few changes in the front row - Mure on for Cordeiro and Silva on for Spachuck
    • 60' Pinto tries to put a ball into the corner - it bounce on the line and then hits Bortolussi in the head and out to touch. Portugal with the throw in - just inside the Italian half.
    • 59' Italy make a change Orlando on for Vosawai.
    • 58' Italian turnover though and they break fast to take back the territorial advantage.
    • 57' Italy eventually push Portugal back to half-way but then a good garryown from Pinto sees De Marigny knock on and Portugal had a scrum put-in about 35 metres out.
    • 56' Canavosio has all kinds of problems dealing with a little chipped in ball and Portugal have a chance to build an attack just outside the 22.
    • 52' Again Italy have the ball in a good position - a line-out just outside the 22 - and again they lose possession after yet ANOTHER knock-on - they should be out of sight but if Portugal get the next score they will be right in this.
    • 50' The crowd gets excited as Portugal turn the ball over and Joao Uva storms forward into Italian territory - they then try and work the ball wide but just run out of space and Italy get out of jail.
    • 48' The story of the second-half so far has been one of Italy getting into the Portugal 22 and then conceding penalties - they have just done it again!
    • 44' Another chance goes for Italy as Troncon looks to move the ball back from just in front of the line but knocks the ball on. Italy then WIN the scrum but concede a penatly for going over the top.
    • 42' The second-half is underway - Italy pressing in these early stages again.
    • HT And that is the last action of the half - Italy lead 16-5.
    • 40' Offsides from Portugal sees Italy earn another penalty in the 22 - the referee warns "no more please" there were at least three in that last movement with advantage given each time. Bortolussi eventually gets the chance to kick though and once more scores with ease. 16-5.
    • 38' Italy continue to enjoy more ball but they are making sloppy mistakes now and you can see Portugal growing in confidence.
    • 34' TRY PORTUGAL!!!!! Portugal win a penatly and kick to touch inside the 22. They win the line-out too - then Pinto skips past a few men to set up an overlap and Penalva is the lucky man who gets to take it over the line for the try - Pinto can't convert from a tough angle on the conversion though.
    • 31' Portugal take off Mateus who has picked up a knock and Gama comes on.
    • 30' Penalva charged for coming in at the side just a little right of the posts 22 yards out - no problem for Bortolussi - 13-0.
    • 29' Portugal cannot get out of their own half and are having to make a lot of tackles. Italy could be hanging onto the ball a bit better themselves too though - it remains 10-0
    • 25' Italy have had another spell in the Portuguese 22 but they can't convert the possession into points as Masi is caught hanging on.
    • 23' Italy try and drive off a line out from the 22 but Uva nicks the ball back for Portugal - the Italian forwards not having all the joy they had in the opening moments.
    • 21' A little spell of action in midfield at the moment but the Italian backs are now starting to make ground.
    • 18' Bortolami has done his time and he is back on the pitch.
    • 17' The Portugal line-out has been very sloppy so far and they have just given away possession after a knock on, on their own throw in. Italy eventually then take possession and win a penalty in front of the posts which Bortolussi sticks over - 10-0
    • 13' Portugal enjoy a nice little spell of pressure but the attack ends with a knock on - they are getting into the match now though.
    • 10' All the French cheering on for Portugal but Italy look lively tonight both up front and when they move it out to the backs.
    • 8' Bortolami is given a yellow card for a "punch" after the referee talked with the line judge. There didn't seem to be much in that but the Italian captain goes to the bin for 10 minutes.
    • 8' Italy after the bonus point quickly it seems they get a penalty just inside the 22 and decided to kick into the corner. Good defence by the Portuguese though sees them repel the attack back before Italy are charged with a penalty.
    • 6' Poor mistake by Portugal they had a chance with a line-out just inside the Italian half but they couldn't put the ball in straight.
    • 4' And the Italians get under the posts!!! It started with a line-out five metres out - the pack drived and Ghiraldini nearly pushed over. Eventually they worked it out to the backs and De Marigny fed Masi for a try under the posts. Easily converted 7-0!
    • 2' Superb driving from the Italian pack in the opening minute sees them storm up from the 22 all the way to half-way - and they have since kicked deep into the Portugal half and are doing the early pressing.
    • 1' And we are underway - with Portugal getting the action started.
    • - The two anthems sung with great passion - don't get me wrong both sets of players were awful, just awful - but the PASSION was there.
    • - Hardly an empty seat in Paris tonight which is great to see.
    • - The players are walking out now - and Italian scrum-half Alessandro Troncon is allowed to come out first and on his own as he earns his 100th cap today.
    • - Welcome to LIVE coverage of this Pool C game at the Parc des Princes between Italy and Portugal. The Italians were mauled 76-14 by tournament favourites New Zealand in their opening match before labouring to a 24-18 win over Romania so they need to lay down a marker before facing Scotland next week.
