- Argentina trail France by one point and a victory over Ireland will see them top the group and meet Scotland in St Denis. If they lose by less than seven points then they will still go through as the second-placed team. But the reward for that is an unwelcome clash with New Zealand, so they will want to beat the Irish and avoid a showdown with the favourites.
- After France's earlier victory over Georgia, the equation for Ireland is simple: they must score four tries today and beat the Pumas by more than seven points.
