    • 75' Ireland forwards driving powerfully but O'Gara's little grubber is blocked and Pumas force them back 30m.

    • 70' Ireland unable to get their hands on the ball at the moment as the Pumas sensibly keep it tight with their powerful forwards. Pumas eventually penalised for not releasing and O'Gara clears up field.
    • 69' Murphy caught deep in his own half. Pumas pinch the ball AGAIN and launch a series of attacks at Ireland line. Contepomi dummies to take drop goal, Pumas then feed Hernandez and he's forced to take drop with his wrong foot and it goes wide.
    • 67' Very cool by Corleto, who clears the danger. O'Gara puts cross kick over and Corleto again takes high kick ahead of Horgan. Ref calls Horgan offside anyway, but superb work by the Pumas fullback.
    • 66' Contepomi makes no mistakes with the kick. 27-15. Looking more and more unlikely for Ireland!
    • 64' Pumas forwards keep it tight and make 10m. Contepomi makes a dart and is caught high by O'Callaghan. Another penalty to Pumas as Ireland ring the changes. kelly on for O'Callaghan, Best for Flannery and Simon Best for Wallace.
    • 62' Contepomi makes it 24-15. Ireland now need two more tries and 17 unanswered points with less than 20 minutes to go!
    • 60' Aerial ping pong happening at the moment. Wallace forced to field the ball deep in his 22, Pumas turn the ball over and feed their backs. Ireland are offside and Pumas have penalty just right in front of Ireland's posts.
    • 57' Forward pass from O'Gara and Pumas awared scum down in Ireland's half. Hernandez puts up high ball but this time Murphy takes it easily.
    • 55' Ireland are still in this and one moment of magic could give them the lead and leave them needing just one try. There is still 25 minutes to go so plenty of time! Pichot again kicks out on the full - maybe a few nerves are creeping into Pumas game?
    • 54' Hickie caught in possession and again Pumas steal the ball. Pumas are winning the break down battle comfortably!
    • 52' D'Arcy takes the ball up but is tackled well and Pumas Lobbe forces a turnover to allow Hernandez to kick Pumas deep into Ireland's half.
    • 50' Hernandez takes another high ball and is tackled by O'Gara while he's still in the air. Penalty to Pumas and Hernandez kicks down to the Ireland 22m line.
    • 50' Contepomi kicks out on the full and Ireland awarded scrum back near halfway. Hickie kicks downfield but ball bounces cruelly and Pumas get 22m drop out.
    • 47' Hernandez takes high ball but Ireland pressure Corleto into slicing his kick. Ireland win throw and the ball is moved superbly through the backs for Murphy to go over in the corner. Fantastic try and lovely pass from Wallace! 21-15. The dream flickers!
    • 44' Penalty to Ireland and O'Gara moves them into Pumas 22m area. Ostiglia has taken a blow but he's now up. O'Callaghan wins the throw, Reddan snipes and Ireland's forwards drive on before feeding their backs. But Hickie is caught in midfield and Pumas steal the ball.
    • 42' Pumas forwards again taking the game to Ireland and driving forcefully up field. Easterby collapses the maul and Pumas have another penalty. Contepomi nails another superb kick from the touchline to move Argentina 21-10 ahead. Great kick!
    • 41' Hernandez gets the second half started. What will Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan have said to his players and will it work the miracle needed?
    • 40' Hernandez almost clear again as Pumas hack on, but ball rolls into touch and ref blows for half-time. Not a great half for the Irish, but the Pumas are looking in excellent shape. Hernandez is controlling the game superbly from stand-off and Ireland have it all to do in the second half.
    • 39' Contepomi kicks superb conversion from touchline to extend Pumas lead to 18-10.
    • 37' Ball bounces kindly for Pumas and their forwards break into Ireland half. But Reddan is back covering well. Hernandez launches another high ball, catches it superbly and feeds his pack. Ball is then moved quickly through the backs to Agulla who touches down in the corner. 16-10.
    • 36' Pumas steal the ball and attack down the left touchline before feeding Hernandez, who slots another drop goal. Very cool! 11-10.
    • 33' Ireland's tails are up now and they hack the ball down into Pumas 22m area. Pumas win throw and clear it down field. Pumas happy just to kick as far as they can and invite Ireland to run the ball back at them.

    • 30' Ireland again driven 15 yards backwards as they try and force the game. Murphy chips over and is taken out. Touch judge rules Corleto checked him and Ireland win penalty which O'Gara drills into Pumas 22m area. Ireland need something very soon!
    • 29' Manuel Contepomi attacks Ireland midfield but fails to release the ball on the ground and O'Gara kicks Ireland in Pumas half.
    • 25' Ireland on the back foot here and will need to clear their lines without conceding any more points! Which they do as O'Gara finds a decent touch 10m inside his own half.
    • 25' Overthrow from Pumas but O'Gara knocks on. Scrum to Pumas, and their forwards pick and drive again. Ireland defence is good and they force Pumas to spill the ball. Phew!
    • 24' Hernandez takes high ball, feeds Pichot who kicks ahead and O'Gara has to hoof ball into touch with Corleto closing down on him. Lineout to Pumas 10m from Ireland try line.
    • 22' O'Gara again puts in a poor kick and allows Borges to launch a counter attack. Ireland's stand-off keeps handing possession back to the Pumas. Ireland looking a tad headless here!
    • 21' Albacete carries well into Ireland 22m area, Pumas forwards feed Hernandez and the stand-off lands a superb drop goal. 8-3.
    • 19' Huge tackle Hernandez on D'Arcy, but Ireland keep the attack going. Pumas steal the ball but concede penalty for handling on the ground. O'Gara takes the three points from in front of the Pumas posts. 5-3.

    • 14' Pumas forwards battering the Ireland line now, Pichot directing his players to pick and drive. Ominous passage of play there for Ireland as the Pumas show their very real power up front!
    • 11' Ireland make a mess of an up and under and Contepomi hacks on. He's almost through but Hickie is back to save the day. Lucky for Ireland as Horgan had pulled Contepomi back!
    • 9' Thankfully for Ireland, Contepomi pushes his kick at goal.
    • 7' Pumas 22m drop out goes out on the full and Ireland awarded scrum in middle of the field. O'Gara chips through for Hickie but Pumas cover is good. They then pressure the Irish who panic with the ball and Pumas are awarded a penalty for not releasing. Not smart play from Ireland!

    • 1' Hernandez misses touch and Murphy puts up a high kick. It's returned to Ireland and O'Gara chips beautifully, Wallace gathers and Ireland put huge pressue on the Pumas. Great start for Ireland who have a lineout in Pumas 22.
    • 1' Ireland kick off and concede an early scrum.
    • - It's a glorious afternoon in Paris and we're set for a huge encounter.
    • - Argentina trail France by one point and a victory over Ireland will see them top the group and meet Scotland in St Denis. If they lose by less than seven points then they will still go through as the second-placed team. But the reward for that is an unwelcome clash with New Zealand, so they will want to beat the Irish and avoid a showdown with the favourites.
    • - After France's earlier victory over Georgia, the equation for Ireland is simple: they must score four tries today and beat the Pumas by more than seven points. If they can do that they will finish second in Group D and secure a quarter-final against New Zealand. Otherwise they'll be on the plane back to Dublin.
    • - So here it is, judgement day for Ireland as they take on in-form Argentina at the Stade de France.
