    Time:80'
    • Australia
    • Canada
    • 81' Williams gathers a Huxley grubber and Canada win a penalty. Ref White blows for full-time. Not a great effort by the Wallabies but a comfortable victory non the less. More serious matters ahead next weekend when they face England in the quarter-finals.
    • 80' Last move of the game now for Australia. Can they grab another score and add a bit of gloss to an unsatisfactory performance?
    • 76' Good yards by Carpentar and the move is continued by Williams. Canada put over a cross kick for Pritchard but Mitchell reads it well and calls a mark.
    • 74' Shepherd adds the conversion from near the right touchline. Nice kick. 37-6.
    • 74' Tuqiri makes a half break from a scrum near Canada's line, he feeds Latham and the full-back goes over for a well-worked try. 35-6.
    • 72' Canada lose the ball off their 5m scrum and McMenimen drives over but it looks like Williams has again got under him! Well played the scrum-half.
    • 70' What a miss. Hoiles clean through with support on either side, but somehow Shepherd knocks on as he crosses the line. Hoiles should have passed sooner, but still.....!
    • 65' Tuqiri again through, this time he feeds Latham who passes out of the tackle for Mitchell to go over for his second try in as many minutes. Nice finish from Mitchell, who now has seven tries and leads the tournament try-scoring table. 30-6.
    • 63' Huxley has been relieved of the kicking duties so Shepherd has a go and adds the conversion. 25-6.
    • 60' Yukes is penalised for some foul play and Canada blow a good attacking opportunity. Huxley puts a chip through on the blindside from the ensuing lineout and Mitchell wins the race for the ball and shows good strength to break a tackle and score. 23-6.
    • 59' Sharpe takes the throw and Aussies set up forward drive. But Cordingly drops the ball, Canada's Biddle gathers and they win a penalty for handling in a ruck.
    • 58' Ashley-Cooper breaks clear but slips as he's about to take on van der Merwe. Canada turn the ball over but Williams is then caught in possession and penalised for holding on. Australia kick for the corner.
    • 57' Chisholm offside on Canada's line and the Pritchard sends kick up to near halfway.
    • 55' Cooper switches with Tuqiri and the flyer is through again. But he fails to pass to Mitchell, holds on to the ball and the scoring opportunity is lost. Good defence again from the Canucks.
    • 53' Shepherd caught in possession and spills the ball. Stephen takes the ball up for Canada and Aussies concede penalty for hands in a ruck. Pritchard makes no mistake from right infront of the Aussies post. 18-6.
    • 50' Latham out paces prop Thiel down the right hand touchline and puts through a nice chip. The ball runs into touch but Smith pinches the Canada throw and lunges over for Aussies' third try. Mistake from Canadian replacement hooker Carpentar who throws too long for his jumpers! 19-3.
    • 46' Tuqiri again used to try and make a hole in Canada midfield bu the Canadians are made of sterm stuff and keep the wing at bay. Aussies retain possession but more big tackles forces another knock on!
    • 46' Carpentar on for Riordan, Hoiles on for Lyons.
    • 44' Australia pounding the Canadian line again but again the Canadian defence proving strong - a definite nuisance infact, with their upper body strength allowing them to prevent Aussies from offloading.
    • 42' Early penalty chance for Canada after Aussies handle in the ruck and Pritchard makes no mistakes to cut the scores to 13-3.
    • 41' Monro gets second half going.
    • 40' Huxley sends up a high ball which Canada's Coker misjudges - but the ball bounces kindly for Canada. However, Aussies pinch the ball and Tuqiri makes another line break and feeds Shepherd, who spills the ball and allows ref to blow for half-time. Not a classic performance by Australia by any means and they know they can improve in the second half.
    • 36' Australia continue where they left off by controlling possession and territory in Canada's half.
    • 35' Huxley misses the conversion. The stand-off does not look comfortable with his place kicking. No wonder Latham and Barnes are being kept under wraps.
    • 34' Aussies win line out and start a controlled drive which ends with Freier going over for their second try. 13-0.
    • 30' Nice pick up by van der Merwe to clear the pressure but Canada again concede penalty, which Latham again sends down into the left-hand corner.
    • 23' Canada repel the first few waves but Baxter eventually drives over on the blindside after quick pass from Smith. 8-0.
    • 25' Canada concede scrum for lineout throw not straight. Ref White speaks to props Snow and Baxter who are causing problems for a settled scrum. Williams offsife and Aussies win penalty in Canada 22. Latham kicks them into the corner for lineout 10m from Canada line.
    • 22' Australia just not able to break down the Canada defence despite being camped in their 22m area for most of the game!
    • 19' Australia keep the ball tight and McMeniman looks like he has gone over. Ref White goes up to the video official. It looks very close. Has Williams got underneath the ball, preventing McMeniman getting downward pressure? Yes, well played the Canada scrum-half as the video ref awards a 5, scrum to the Aussies! Good defence Canada.
    • 18' Ball retention of Australia has not been good so far and Canada will be happy with the 3-0 scoreline and we reach the end of the first quarter.
    • 17' Tuqiri bursts through to within 10m of the Canada line. The ball is recycled quickly, Chisholm makes a charge but the ball is spilled and Pyke clears for Canada.
    • 13' Decent cross kick by Huxely but wonderful mark by Mensah-Coker who takes the ball at full stretch!
    • 11' Ashley-Cooper again looks for space but Williams puts in a good tackle and forces a knock on. Scrum Canada.
    • 10' Canada offside but Huxley misses touch and Canada find touch near halfway. Shocking error from the Wallabies standoff.
    • 7' Rain is starting to fall hard now, which will likely help Canada, who are far more reliant on their forward game than the Aussies.
    • 6' Australia knock out at the lineout and Canada win a scrum on their 22m line. But the Wallabies pinch the ball and Ashley-Cooper straightens up in midfield. But Tuquiri blocks Canada defence and ref White awards a penalty which Canada clear up to near halfway.
    • 4' Nice play from Monro, who sees some space behind Aussie defensive line and finds a good touch in their half.
    • 2' Not a good start for the Canucks. How will they respond to that early setback?
    • 1' Canada's Stephen penalised at the ruck and Australia have early chance to get points on the board. Easy kick for Huxley, though he needs the help of a post, and the Wallabies take a 3-0 lead.
    • 1' Huxley kicks off for Australia and Canada immediately knock on, allowing Australia and early scrum.
    • - Canada will want to make their farewell appearance at this World Cup, after two losses and a draw, one to remember and will as usual give it their all and may be able to competitive up front.
    • - Australia have already secured top spot in Pool B so have decided to rest a number of key players for their quarter-final showdown with England next weekend. Sam Cordingley and Julian Huxley are at halfback and George Smith leads the side from the flank.
    • - It's an overcast day in Bordeaux with mild temperatures, though so far there is no sign of rain so the conditions are good.
    • - Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's online commentary of the World Cup game between Australia and Canada from the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux.
