Ellison was blighted by rear grip issues which prevented him from keeping up with Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes and Brookes. But overall the rider was left frustrated after the races today, even though he felt the bike did improve in the final race.
“I only got one podium credit today, but it was two tough races. We were there at the front then I started to drop back a bit in race one as had a problem with rear grip. So we made a small change in race two which helped a little bit but it was quite frustrating as we were quick in the fast flowing sections and through the woodlands we lost corner entry grip so it was a game of cat and mouse,” said Ellison, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the circuit.
“Then Josh and Alex pulled away and the gap had gone and there was no way I was going to get third in two laps, but unfortunately for Josh he crashed out and I got a podium credit but I had my share of bad luck in race one, but I am happy to come away with some points for the team.”
