Hawkins secured his ninth successive victory in the tournament early on Sunday as a last second pink saw him edge Michael White 43-39.
However, despite an early break of 37 he crashed in the quarters to Maguire who built a decisive half century off a quality red.
Maguire is joined in the semi-final finals by Martin Gould, Mark Allen and Michael Holt.
