    Snooker - Hamilton progresses in China Open qualifying

    Veteran Steve Davis progressed safely through to the final round of qualifying for the China Open with a 5-3 win over Mike Dunn in Sheffield.

    Meanwhile Anthony Hamilton, the world number 37, overcame Paul Davison for the loss of just one frame as he continued his bid to reach Beijing.

    The 41-year-old from Nottingham will next take on world number 28 Michael Holt in the next round.

    World No.36 Liang Wenbo was a 5-3 winner over Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon while Nigel Bond also won by that scoreline against fellow 47-year-old Tony Drago.

    The likes of Marco Fu, Barry Hawkins and Tom Ford join the fray on Saturday.

    The China Open takes place in Beijing from March 25-31.
