Bingham racked up his third victory of the day, with the eventual semi-finalists having made their way through the last-32 and last-16 stages in prior sessions, in overcoming the 1997 world champion.
Next up for Bingham in tomorrow’s penultimate round is compatriot Tom Ford, who also clinched a 4-1 success over local amateur Hu Hao.
The other semi-final will pit Robert Milkins, who whitewashed Cao Yupeng 4-0 in their last eight encounter, against the only remaining Chinese Li Hang, 4-2 conqueror of Zhang Anda.
The final will also take place on Friday, shortly following the semi-final results.
