Serie A - Super-sub Palacio hits injury-time winner for Inter

    Serie A, Stadio Angelo Massimino - Catania 2 (Bergessio 7, Marchese 19) Internazionale 3 (Alvarez 52, Palacio 70, 90)

Rodrigo Palacio led a remarkable Internazionale turnaround to beat Catania 3-2 in a battle for the European places in Serie A in Sicily.

Inter were 2-0 down at the break after an early strike from Gonzalo Bergessio and clever headed finish from Giovanni Marchese on 19 minutes.

With Andrea Stramaccioni perhaps fearing for his job, he introduced Dejan Stankovic and Argentine striker Palacio ahead of the second half.

On 52 minutes Palacio spun to cross for Ricardo Alvarez to head home before heading home himself with 20 minutes to play to level.

And the sprightly frontman was not finished there: he shot under Mariano Andujar in the second of four minutes added on to complete the comeback from an Esteban Cambiasso cut-back.

Inter would have been overtaken by the Sicilians, who bossed the first half and might have scored more, had they won; as it is, the Nerazzurri jump above Lazio into fourth spot.
