The Argentine summer signing from Manchester City has become the first player to wear the mythical jersey at the club since Del Piero joined Sydney FC in 2012.
“I thank Tevez for his kind words about me at his official unveiling,” the Italian veteran told Sky Sport Italia on Friday.
“I hope that he wears the No 10 shirt with love.”
The Turin giants won their second consecutive Scudetto last season and the 38-year-old is predicting more success.
“Juventus are favourites in Serie A and they will be very competitive in the Champions League,” added the forward who spent 19 years with the club.
