Hunslet Hawks 12-50 Catalan Dragons
Catalan Dragons shrugged off the first-half dismissal of Ian Henderson to crush Championship hosts Hunslet Hawks 50-12 in their Challenge Cup fourth-round clash. Henderson was sent off for a high challenge on Luke Helliwell in the 27th minute but, led by Thomas Bosc who scored one try, created four and kicked seven conversions, the Dragons made light work of Hunslet. William Barthau also scored a hat-trick, with Dragons’ six other tries coming from Damien Blanch, Jean Philippe Baile (2), Zeb Taia and Eloi Pelissier.
Rochdale Hornets 10-70 Bradford Bulls
Jarrod Sammut and Luke Gale starred as Bradford Bulls thrashed Championship One side Rochdale Hornets 70-10. Both players scored two tries and had a hand in most of the Bulls’ 12 scores, with Sammut racking up 26 points alone. Elliot Whitehead also grabbed a second-half hat-trick in an accomplished display from the Super League side.
Batley Bulldogs 4-13 Huddersfield Giants
Two late tries from Shaun Lunt spared Huddersfield Giants an embarrassing Cup defeat to part-timers Batley in a 13-4 turnaround. Batley had led through Gareth Potts’s unconverted try before Lunt struck twice in two minutes, with Danny Brough converting both.
Hull FC 62-6 North Wales Crusaders
Hull eased to a 62-6 win over North Wales Crusaders at the KC Stadium thanks to hat-tricks from full-back Jamie Shaul and centre Kirk Yeaman. Hull managed a dozen tries against the Championship One outfit, with Richard Horne also bagging a double in a comprehensive win. Joe Westerman, Ben Crooks, Tom Lineham and James Cunningham also touched down, with Christiaan Roets managing the visitors’ only score.
Halifax RLFC 52-6 Barrow Raiders
Ryan Fieldhouse, Scott Murrell and Anthony Thackeray all scored twice as Halifax beat Barrow 52-6. Lee Paterson and Craig Ashall also touched down, with Liam Campbell managing Barrow’s only try.
Keighley Cougars 4-74 Warrington Wolves
Warrington started their Cup defence by beating Keighley in the opening round for the third year in a row after a 74-4 triumph. Ryan Adkins scored four tries, with Chris Riley and Rhys Williams both adding two apiece. Trent Waterhouse, Richie Myler, Gareth O’Brien, Glenn Riley and Brett Hodgson also scored, with Paul White getting the part-timers’ only try.
University of Gloucestershire All Golds 6-82 Salford City Reds
Salford City Reds inflicted a 15-try demolition of Championship One new-boys Gloucestershire All Golds in Cheltenham.
Marc Sneyd scored one try and converted 11, with Ashley Gibson (2), Jordan Walne, Will Hope (2), Niall Evalds, Jon Ford (3), Adam Walne, Jodie Broughton, Jake Emmitt, Vic Mauro and George Tyson all touching down. Jordan Rice landed UGAG’s only try.
York City Knights 30-28 Toulouse Olympique
Championship side York City Knights ousted French club Toulouse Olympique in a thrilling fourth-round clash. Bastien Ader's last-minute try gave the former Championship side - who now play in their own domestic league - the chance to level but Mark Kheirallah failed to land the conversion to see York through. Both sides had scored five tries, with Kristian Brining and Eloni Vunakece managing two apiece.
Whitehaven RLFC 12-16 Workington Town
Workington Town claimed a seventh consecutive win against local Championship rivals Whitehaven. Brett Carter and Callum Phillips scored tries, with Carter kicking one goal and Carl Forber three. James Cameron and Jessie Joe Parker scored tries for the hosts with Jamie Rooney kicking two goals.
