Premier League - Team of the Week: Fantastic Fernando

Fernando Torres makes our Team of the Week but which three Manchester United players join him in the XI?

    GK: Robert Green - QPR

Jordi Gomez, David Jones and Mauro Boselli were all denied by fine saves from the England international, who took full advantage of Julio Cesar's injury.

    RB: Glen Johnson - Liverpool

The right-back scored a typically spectacular goal and also continued his excellent form this season in a 3-2 win at West Ham.

    CB: Ryan Nelsen - QPR

The New Zealand international scored an important equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Wigan and was a rock at the back for Harry Redknapp's side.

    CB: Sebastien Bassong - Norwich

The defender scored a third goal in four games to continue his unlikely hot streak, with Swansea on the receiving end in a 4-3 victory for the Canaries.

LB: Patrice Evra - Manchester United

The United captain helped keep Manchester City quiet for the first half and then clung on admirably as the visitors secured a dramatic 3-2 victory.

LW: Robert Snodgrass - Norwich City

He was a consistent threat down Swansea’s left flank all day and his set piece deliveries were excellent, Snodgrass capping off his performance with a fine free-kick.

    MD: Jack Wilshere - Arsenal

The young midfielder continues to improve as he returns from long-term injury. Combined slick passing and terrific vision with a fiery competitive streak in a 2-0 win over West Brom.

    MD: James McCarthy - Wigan

McCarthy again showed his class with two goals in a 2-2 draw at home to QPR and produced a cultured display in the middle of the park.

RW: Antonio Valencia - Manchester United

Valencia's return to the first team was a successful one as he supplied a succession of dangerous crosses from the right and caused City no end of problems.

FW: Wayne Rooney - Manchester United

His clinical first-half brace set the tone for a dramatic 3-2 derby win over Manchester City, although Robin van Persie stole the headlines.

    FW: Fernando Torres - Chelsea

Torres scored his first Premier League goal in 12-and-a-half hours and promptly added a second and then an assist as he continued his rebirth under Rafael Benitez.
