The 17-year-old Portuguese youth international has already made two appearances for the City and was the star of the show in the match in Hyde.
It was Jason Denayer who put City in front after just five minutes but Lopes then fired home goals in the 12th and 20th minute to put City in complete control.
Attacking midfielder Lopes then fired a shot off the post in the 41st minute but George Glendon did make it four in the 61st minute.
Captain Lopes finally got his hat-trick in the 63rd minute before Devante Cole completed the rout in the 71st minute.
Lopes got a great reception when he was given a well-earned rest 10 minutes from time.
The City team, managed by Patrick Vieira, have got off to a sensational start to their campaign after having won 4-1 at Viktoria Plzen in their opener.
Lopes now has five goals in the competition after scoring two in the Czech Republic.
The tournament, being played for the first time this season, mirrors the fixtures of the Champions League with the youth teams playing on the same day before their senior counterparts.
