Three Prem clubs poised to move for Benzema: United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been alerted to Karim Benzema’s availability in January after Spanish giants Real Madrid told the player’s representatives to find him another club, reports the Sunday People. Madrid will look to recoup around £17 million of the £25m they gave Lyon for Benzema four years ago with all three Premier League clubs in need of an additional frontline forward.
Paper Round's view: £17m is a realistic amount of money for Real to attempt to recoup given that Benzema remains one of the hottest properties around when he is fit and firing. United and Arsenal have previously been linked with the Frenchman and Chelsea too are in dire need of a top forward to supply goals and a cutting edge. Benzema will leave Real and all three clubs are possible destinations.

United to offer Valencia plus a lot of cash for Baines: Manchester United will offer Everton £15m plus Antonio Valencia in the January transfer window in a fresh attempt to sign Leighton Baines, reports the Daily Mail. With the England defender so far stalling on Everton's attempts to get him to sign a new contract, Moyes is keen to try again after failing with a joint £36m bid for him and Marouane Fellaini in the summer.
Paper Round's view: More often than not 'player stalls on new deal' just means they are holding out for more money, but in Baines's case he surely sees that a move to United is there for the taking come January. Given Patrice Evra's inauspicious performances so far this season, Moyes knows that the Everton left-back is a signing he simply must make at the next possible opportunity.

Real Madrid to move for Aguero in January: Real Madrid are to make a January bid for Sergio Aguero. The Manchester City striker was identified as the Spanish club's prime target at the start of the summer, ahead of Gareth Bale, who was bought for a world record £85.3m, according to a report in the Observer. Real look set to firm up their interest for Aguero in the January transfer window with an offer expected to be markedly more than the £38m he cost City two years ago.
Paper Round's view: While it is entirely plausible that Real would make a move for Aguero in January to bolster their attacking options - particularly with Benzema looking set to finally depart - the City forward appears to be genuinely settled and happy. Plus the fact that he hardly needs to move to ensure that he gets paid what he believes he is due. Aguero is key to Manuel Pellegrini's plans and Real may, in this case, prefer a cheaper option.

PSG to launch £35m bid for Chelsea's Mata: Paris Saint-Germain are ready to swoop for Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata in January after failing to land the unsettled Spaniard in the summer, report the Sunday People. The French champions have made Mata a transfer priority once the window re-opens, with wealthy president Nasser Al-Khelaifi sanctioning a £35m move.
Paper Round's view: Speculation will continue to mount regarding Mata's seemingly uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, but the reality is that Jose Mourinho is simply using him to make a few points on his return. There are already signs that the playmaker is fitting into the mould Mourinho has demanded of him and he could yet flourish for the Blues this season after a frustrating start. Any potential move for Mata would likely only happen in the summer.
