Queens Park Rangers 3-1 Sunderland
Harry Redknapp: "It's good but we are still in need of a fantastic run. We have given ourselves a chance. We have closed the gap and any team on 30 points is not safe. You can go eight, nine or 10 games without winning quite easily. Anyone can have a bad run now and if we continue to pick up points we may have a chance. It won't be easy but we have given ourselves a chance."
Martin O'Neill (on Harry Redknapp saying 37 points could lead to safety) : "We have 30 on the board, "He was speaking from a position of having 20, so you have to try and win those games. His team needed 17 from the last 10. That is European form. We need to start winning, really. I think next week is a big, big game for us. We have difficult fixtures coming up, including Norwich. We have our work cut out. We have known that since the start of the season. It has been tough going throughout the season and we have to fight through these last nine games."
Brian McDermott: "We're hurting. We are very much hurting at this moment in time. It was disappointing to say the least. It was rough. When we got 1-0 up I thought we were ready to kick on. We didn't do that and that's cost us. We were disappointed with both goals. We've got ourselves into the lead and they've scored virtually straight after. We have to hold our hands up. We need to be better and see the game out. I know that and the players know that."
Paul Lambert: "I thought Nathan Baker was exceptional. He has been for the past number of weeks since I've put him at left-back. It was important his head never went down (after his own goal) which it didn't. Being young the slight thing in my head was how he reacted. I've got to give him so much credit. I thought (Agbonlahor's) goal was brilliant I think there was 20-odd passes and the finish was world-class. Some of our football was excellent. It was a massive game."
Chris Hughton: "I decided to go 4-4-2, which means you can perhaps be a bit more open, but I thought we had the better chances. We certainly should have been given a penalty in the first half when Shaw pulls back Grant Holt, so on balances we deserved one (at the end). Grant has got himself ball side of the defender, and I think there is contact, so the referee has to make that decision and he also has a linesman on that side. If we think that one was soft, the one in the first half wasn't. It was not a particularly bad penalty (from Holt) and the lad has made a good save."
Mauricio Pochettino: "Boruc made a massive save for us and saved us a point. I am happy overall with the team's performance because we regained our fighting spirit which we lost a bit against QPR. Before the penalty was given we deserved to be leading the game, so my anger was double fold, that the penalty should not have happened and also we should have been ahead. The weather did not really favour us for the way we wanted to set-up to play. My team adapted really well to the conditions and also Norwich are a very hard team to play against on their own ground."
West Bromwich Albion 2-1 Swansea City
Steve Clarke (on Swansea having a goal disallowed): "We got a lucky break but sometimes when you put in the effort, energy and quality we did into that game...I think we earned that little break. We deserved to win the game. Don't be writing down that we didn't deserve to win the game. I'm delighted because we came from behind. We don't do it very often and in the Premier League there are not too many teams that can do it. When you go behind in this league, it is difficult - especially against a team with the quality of Swansea."
Michael Laudrup: "I think after every game we're always discussing decisions taken by the referees or the linesmen. Should penalties be given or not given? Should a card be given or not given? Was it too harsh or not? One thing or the other thing. All season I've said that after a game we have three or four chances to see things and then we can decide whether we thought it was or wasn't. The referee only has two or three seconds . But we are talking about decisions whereas what happened with the disallowed goal is against the rules. How on earth can you disallow a goal when the ball comes off an opponent? It's like giving an offside after a throw-in! Everybody knows you cannot be offside after a throw-in. Equally everybody knows you can never be offside if the ball comes from an opponent - and in this case it's not coming from one opponent it's coming from two! From the defender, to the goalkeeper and back to Roland. So how on earth can you disallow that goal?"
