“It’s sad that we have to contradict the president of Montpellier, but Inter have never made an offer for their player Younes Belhanda,” said Inter technical director Marco Branca.
Branca's comments came after the Ligue 1 club earlier claimed that Inter had signed the attacking midfielder.
“There is an agreement with Inter,” said Montpellier president Louis Nicollin. “Fenerbahce offered €8m, but Inter bid €14m and that is why we accepted it.
“Inter made a bid last Thursday and I opted to accept it seeing as negotiations with Fenerbahce didn’t turn out positively.”
