The Portuguese full-back has already told Real Madrid that he wants to leave this summer, and has already been rumoured with a switch to Tottenham.
However, Marca have insisted that David Moyes’ side are keen on signing the Blancos defender if their bid for Everton’s Leighton Baines doesn’t come to fruition.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men however, are only willing to sell for bids of over €20m.
Daniel Agger has insisted he is happy at Liverpool, despite interest this summer from Barcelona.
The Denmark international has been a transfer target for the Blaugrana during the transfer window, but the central defender has claimed that he wants to stay at Anfield.
“Overall you have to think that it [Barcelona's interest] is a positive,” he told Danish paper Jyllands-Posten.
“It is a positive that someone likes what you are doing.
“When a club such as Barcelona think that then it is a boost and for that I am pleased. I am not going to deny that but that doesn't mean that anything [a move] happens.
“If a move doesn't happen that that's that. That's nothing I can dictate or decide. I have a contract with Liverpool for another three years and if they want to keep me, they will keep me."
Catania have signed midfielder Tiberio Guarente from Sevilla, so he makes his return to Serie A.
The move is on loan with option to buy at the end of the season, as confirmed by a statement released by Catania.
Guarente is a 27-year-old midfielder from Pisa who started his career with the Atalanta youth academy.
He moved on to Verona, back to Atalanta and joined Sevilla in 2010.
He spent last term on loan at Bologna, though they did not take up their option to buy after two goals in 20 Serie A games.
Kaka looks set for a return to Milan this summer, after admitting that he ‘misses Italy so much’.
The Brazilian playmaker conceded that he wanted to leave Real Madrid on Thursday evening, and reports have suggested that the Rossoneri, as well as several clubs in England are interested in the 31-year-old.
“I miss Italy so much,” Kaka told Simona Ventura’s web television show. “Every time I get the chance, I am pleased to see my Italian friends.”
Sao Paulo Vice-President Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes also suggested Milan was his likely destination.
“We are always in contact with Kaka, therefore we know he is not interested in coming back to Brazil. We’re convinced that when he does want to return, he will choose Sao Paulo.”
According to Sky Sport Italia, negotiations over personal terms are not going well, as Kaka would like €8m per season wages compared to the €3m offered by Milan.
