Although Alex Lowes started on pole after posting the fastest lap yesterday, he was soon left trailing by the Swan Yamaha pairing of Hill and Noriyuki Haga.
And while Haga got dragged into a dogfight, Hill was barely ever trouble as he sealed back-to-back wins in Cheshire.
That takes his lead at the summit to 19 points over Tyco Suzuki’s Josh Brookes, who finished second, with Shane Byrne using every ounce of his experience to finish third just as he had on Saturday.
While the rest of the country was deluged by rain, the conditions at Oulton Park were perfect for racing and the Swan Yamaha team could not have wished for a better start.
Hill and Haga, starting second and third respectively on the grid, shot past Lowes but Brookes was also in close attendance.
It did not take long for Brookes to pass Haga but the Australian was never able to reel in Hill, who eventually finished 3.383 seconds in front of his great rival.
The real action came in the battle for third with Haga having to contend with challenges from Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Byrne and Samsung Honda’s Michael Laverty.
In the end it was a wide overtaking manoeuvre that allowed Byrne to pass Haga, who was then demoted into fifth by Laverty.
Bryne’s podium finish keeps him clear in third place in the standings – 50 points clear of Laverty in fourth but five behind Brookes, after his pair of second places.
