"Marseille announce the loan, with an option to purchase, of Morgan Amalfatino to the English club West Bromwich Albion," a statement on Marseille's website said.
The 28-year-old has been capped once by his country and has made 58 league appearances for Marseille, scoring twice.
He has also played for Sedan and Lorient.
Camp, 29, has joined on a free contract until January and comes in following the news that Ben Foster has been ruled out for up to 12 weeks with a stress fracture.
“Lee will bring experience and authority to the goalkeeping department,” said goalkeeping coach Dean Kiely. “We have acted quickly in the wake of Ben’s injury and made a really good signing.
“Lee comes with a strong pedigree, having played at a high level both domestically and internationally. He ticked a lot of the boxes we required when we began the search for another keeper.”
Camp spent the second half of last season with Norwich, making three Premier League appearances.
