Gothenburg were held to a scoreless draw by relegation-threatened Osters and Helsingborg were thumped 3-0 away to Atvidaberg.
Molins scored just before halftime to give Malmo the lead, but a sublime goal by Gustav Sandberg-Magnusson drew the visitors level midway through the second half.
With time running out, Molins struck his second of the game with a cool chip over the goalkeeper that hit both posts before bouncing over the line for the winner.
The victory means Malmo top the table on 57 points, six ahead of IFK Gothenburg in second and eight clear of third place Helsingborg with two games left to play.
AIK Stockholm can go second and reduce Malmo's lead at the top to five points with victory at home to IFK Norrkoping on Monday.
