Eurosport - John McGrath will remain at York for the remainder of the season
McGrath, 32, who initially joined the Minstermen for a month, has started all six games following his arrival at Bootham Crescent in February.
Burton have retained the option of a 24-hour recall for the Irishman, who is expected to resume in midfield against Rochdale on Tuesday night in York manager Nigel Worthington's first home game in charge.
