Blackpool arrived in south London in top spot and ready to hammer another nail in Lomas' coffin, with the Den faithful already calling for his head just six games into the season.
Things looked even bleaker when Tom Ince fired the visitors ahead after 16 minutes, but a fortuitous penalty decision, when Isaiah Osborne handled as he fell to the floor, allowed Liam Trotter to level just before the break.
"It's very hard to say if it was a penalty," admitted Lomas.
"It hit his hand but whether it's intentional we don't know.
"But we've been on the end of some poor decisions so maybe we got the rub of the green - and I still think we're owed some as well.
"The penalty before half-time makes the team talk easier, and then there were two emphatic finishes."
