“Macho” Camacho was shot along with friend Adrian Mojica Moreno while the two sat in a car in Bayamon on November 20, and he died in hospital four days later from the wounds. Mojica Moreno died at the scene.
Police spokesperson Alex Diaz said that forensic evidence has proven that two men being questioned over the shooting were not responsible, while their impounded car was not used in the crime.
Camacho had a professional record of 79-6-3 and was the first fighter to be recognised as a septuple champion after winning major or minor belts in seven different weight classes.
