Gossner began the sixth World Cup with an uncharacteristic finish of 62nd in the 7.5km sprint, by far her worst result of the season, before opting out of the 10km pursuit.
However she was back for the women's 4x6km relay and back on the top step of the podium as Germany claimed their first relay victory of the season in Italy.
Gossner, who has three individual wins this season, Franziska Hildebrand, Nadine Horchler and Andrea Henkel combined to post a winning time of 1:13:02.1.
That was 17.4 seconds ahead of the Russian quartet of Ekaterina Glazyrina, Olga Zaitseva, Ekaterina Shumilova and Olga Vilukhina while France took third place 40.9 behind overall.
Poland led into the first exchange after twice shooting clear and, despite the best efforts of Zaitseva, who missed one target in her two trips to the next handover, they were still in front.
However that wasn't the case by the third as Horchler shot perfectly for give the Germans a lead of over 20 seconds in Antholz-Anterselva that they would eventually hold on to.
Coming out of the range for the penultimate time, Vilukhina was actually ahead of Henkel as she missed one target to the Germans three but she didn't lead for long.
Henkel soon regained control and with the tides turned on the last shoot she cruised home to give Germany the win and their second top-three finish after a third in Oberhof at the start of the month.
