MLB announced the suspension on Saturday. Miguel will begin serving it immediately. He was recently placed on the 60-day disabled list with a strained calf muscle.
The suspension is the third-longest non-lifetime ban in league history. New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is appealing a 211-game suspension and former pitcher Steve Howe was disciplined 119 games in 1992 while playing for the Yankees.
Tejada, who won the American League MVP with the Oakland A's in 2002, signed a one-year contract with the Royals before this season.

The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder/designated hitter Luke Scott on the 15-day disabled list because of lower back spasms, the club announced Saturday.
The Rays also activated right-handed pitcher Brandon Gomes, who was on the 60-day DL since may with a lat strain.
Scott, 35, is batting .249 with a .336on-base percentage, nine home runs and 39 RBI in 78 games this season.

The Milwaukee Brewers activated right-hander Yovani Gallardo from the 15-day disabled list and he will start Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Gallardo has been out since leaving his July 30 start with tightness in his left hamstring.
Gallardo is 8-9 with a 4.91 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 21 starts this year.
The Brewers cleared roster space for Gallardo after Friday's win over the Reds by optioning right-hander Donovan Hand to Class AAA Nashville. Hand is 0-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 56 1/3 innings this season.
