The trio of Danielle Brown, Rikki Bingham and Andrea Gales faced off against France for the bronze medal in the compound women team event.
And Great Britain ended the match in fine fashion, dropping just two points in their last six arrows while their opponents scored 52.
However it was too little too late after they had fallen eight points behind in the third end and France ended up taking home the bronze with a 219-217 victory.
Colombians Aura Maria Bravo, Sara Lopez and Alejandra Usquiano, who beat Great Britain in the semis, went on to take gold, beating the Netherlands 229-215.
But despite ending empty handed Eley was delighted with the team's effort.
"Andrea, Danielle and Rikki have all shot very well in extremely difficult conditions over the past few days and all their hard work as a team so nearly paid off," he said.
"I am very proud of them and they are a great example to our junior archers going off to the World Youth Championships next week."
