    Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela handed Giro wildcard

    Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela have been awarded a wildcard for the 2013 Giro d’Italia.

    The team managed by Gianni Savio are the 22nd team who will contest the Corsa Rosa, starting on May 4 in Naples and finishing in Brescia.

    Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela won the final classification of the Coppa Italia ahead of Colnago CSF Inox and Acqua e Sapone.

    Their squad includes Colombian climber Fabio Duarte, who won the Coppa Sabatini in midweek, and his compatriot José Serpa.

    Italian champion Franco Pellizotti, Emanuele Sella - a winner of four Giro stages - and José Rujano, the Venezuelan who has won three stages in the race, are also in their ranks.
