  1. - Thank you for joining eurosport.yahoo.com for today's qualifying - join us tomorrow for all three races live!!

  2. - Toseland on his effort today: "You've got to keep it smooth in order to keep the lap times down. These things don't turn the corner. I hope it's dry tomorrow morning, because there's enough to worry about with set-up. We're in the front group and are pretty pleased with that."

  3. 13:58 The final order reads like this: front row - Pedrosa, Edwards, Stoner; second row - Rossi, Lorenzo, Hayden; third row - Toseland, Vermeulen, Hopkins; fourth row - Dovizioso, Capirossi, De Puniet; fifth row - Nakano, Elias, De Angelis; and then Guintoli, Melandri and West.

  4. 13:54 Pedrosa shoots over the line in 1:32.647 for pole!!!!!!

  5. 13:53 Hayden with 1:33.286 to shift Toseland back to the third row. That's better from him.

  6. 13:52 Only four minutes left in qualifying - 1:33.396 is enough for an improvement of one place to sixth.

  7. 13:50 Lorenzo loses his line and veers off down an access road... he walks the bike back around back to the track.

  8. 13:48 Rossi third. Pedrosa still second.

  9. 13:47 Capirossi goes around in 1:33.707, a good lap but only for the second row.

  10. 13:45 Stoner shifting on his own hot lap and he's got a 1:33.108!!! Second!!

  11. 13:44 Edwards slicing tenths off his own provisional pole time, with Toseland also going quick behind himÂ… 1:32.774!!! What a time! And Toseland goes fifth!

  12. 13:40 The order with 15 minutes to go: Edwards, Vermeulen, Rossi, Pedrosa, De Puniet, Lorenzo, Toseland, Hayden and Stoner.

  13. 13:38 Rain is approaching - they'd better get their skates on if they want to record a flying lap!!!

  14. 13:37 Stoner improves from ninth to eighth as the clock ticks down... 20 minutes to go.

  15. 13:34 Pedrosa (1:33.857) goes top before Rossi records a stunning 1:33.767 - and immediately after Edwards almost goes sub-1:33 with 1:33.065!!!!!

  16. 13:32 John Hopkins goes on to the second row with 1:34.160! Sixth for him.

  17. 13:29 Chris Vermeulen fastest thanks to a 1:33.859... and Toseland goes third with 1:34.099!!

  19. 13:24 Edwards second again ahead of five-times world champ Rossi with a 1:34.111. We are getting close to our qualification times here.

  20. 13:22 Lorenzo goes off into the gravel and rejoins further up the track with a leap over a bump! The rider was very close to coming off there but kept the machine upright. He is not having the best few weeks, but remaining competitive nonetheless.

  21. 13:21 Pedrosa becomes only the second rider this weekend to beat 1:34 with 1:33.911.

  22. 13:16 De Puniet goes third ahead of Colin Edwards, who is seeking another pole here in France.

  27. 12:57 Lorenzo is out on the circuit and records 1:37.527 as a first go. He took another series of bangs on that ankle after tumbling off on Friday afternoon and also coming a cropper in China.
