Tour de France - Marseille - Montpellier

Live Comments

  1. 16:03 - South Africa's Robbie Hunter wins stage 11. The Barloworld rider edges out Fabian Cancellara and Murilo Fischer in a sprint finish for his first Tour win on an action-packed day. The average speed was 48.06km/h and Moreau's group crosses 3:20 behind.

  2. 1km - There is a crash just after the Flamme Rouge !!

  3. 2.5km - Credit Agricole drag the Kazakh back.

  4. 4km - Vinokourov goes for a long one !!

  5. 5km - 2:44 is the difference - Boonen and Hunter will be licking their lips in anticipation of a sprint finish.

  6. 10km - The fastest stage before today was from Laval to Blois in 1999 when Mario Cipollini won in 50.355km/h. That record is in danger. 2:35 separates the two pelotons with the second one also including Erik Zabel. Barloworld are maintaining the pace and they will fancy the chances of their man Robbie Hunter in the sprint.

  7. 20km - The gap is 2:03 and Moreau is in danger of dropping out of the top ten on GC. The next highest Frenchman is Sylvain Chavanel who is way down in 33rd. The hosts have not had a man on the podium since Richard Virenque in 1997.

  8. 28km - 1:44 is the gap back to Moreau's group as Serguei Ivanov does a truck load of work for Astana on the front. This will be the quickest stage of the tour so far.

  9. 35km - Moreau's group have reduced the gap to 1:38. Barloworld, Quickstep and Astana continue to do the work.

  10. 38km - It's a crazy stage - Astana, Barloworld and Quickstep are still riding at a high tempo and the break that was eight minutes ahead not long on has been absorbed.

  11. 45km - The gap from the leading five to the peloton is 1:07 with the Moreau group now three minutes back. He is losing a pack of time with Barloworld now doing the damage.

  12. 55km - Alexandre Vinokourov was described as being only 80% fit this morning by his sport director Adriano Baffi and he has just signalled to his Astana team-mates to ease the pace.

  13. 60km - Moreau is now 1:15 behind and Astana have achieved their aim of moving Andreas Kloden up a position on the "virtual" GC. The indirect result of their work is that the leading five are only 2:30 ahead.

  14. 63km - Moreau has just two team-mates with him and has lost 27 seconds on the peloton with Astana still doing the damage.

  15. 65km - Moreau, sixth on GC, is in that second group. The French veteran crashed earlier in the stage.

  16. 69km - Igor Anton of Euskaltel has abandoned as Astana's pace and some crosswinds cause a split in the peloton.

  17. 70km - Millar finished 59th overall last year just a few weeks after returning to cycling following a two-year ban for admitting to the use of EPO in 2001 and 2003. The Malta-born Scot was stripped of his 2003 world time trial championship rainbow jersey because of the admission. He was involved in a breakaway on the opening road stage and stands 101st on GC. The leaders are 6:51 ahead of the peloton as for some strange reason Astana really inflict the pain on the front of the peloton.

  18. 80km - As the gap stretches to five minutes, we will give you a rundown on the credentials of the leading quintet over the next few kilometres.

  19. 84km - Millar makes it a five-man lead group as the lead over the peloton stretches to over four minutes.

  20. 86km - Florencio wins the second intermediate sprint at Arles and Saunier Duval's flying Scot David Millar is in hot pursuit just 16 seconds behind.

  21. 90km - The escape group have a two minute lead: Dmitriy FOFONOV (Credit Agricole) 40th @ 28:10 Fabian WEGMANN (Gerolsteiner) 55th @ 37:32 Xavier FLORENCIO (Bouygues Telecom) 63rd @ 44:55 Philippe GILBERT (FDJ) 107th @ 1:15:43

  22. 95km - They have 30 seconds.

  23. 99km - The pack are together again....only for Gilbert, Wegmann, Fofonov and Florencio to try their luck.

  24. 105km - That counter-attack was deemed too dangerous and the leading trio have only 15 seconds lead now.

  25. 110km - Garcia-Acosta, Arvesen, Zubeldia, Ballan, Voeckler, Poitschke, Rinero and Ventoso are now looking to get across to the three leaders who are 28 seconds ahead.

  26. 115km - Six of the leaders have been caught with a lot of teams desperate to be involved at the finish. Bennati, Chavanel and Vaugrenard are persisting.

  27. 120km - Sylvain Calzati has abandoned so AG2R are down to eight riders.

  28. 125km - The average speed for the first hour was a staggering 50.8km/h. Milram are working for Zabel along with Predictor-Lotto and Euskaltel - for whom, no-one knows - and the gap is down to 1:20.

  29. 130km - The Rabobank team of yellow jersey Michael Rasmussen are keeping a lid on things with Arroyo less than eight minutes behind. Will anyone chase? Quickstep have three stage wins and Tom Boonen's pursuit of the green jersey will be helped if only 10th place is up for grabs. It really depends on whether Credit Agricole are committed to help Thor Hushovd gain another stage and whether Milram believe Erik Zabel has the legs. Robbie Hunter's Barloworld team have a man in the escape as do Sébastien Chavanel's FDJ squad.

  30. 140km - The escape group is: David ARROYO (Caisse d'Epargne) 19th @ 7:33 Kanstantsin SIUTSOU (Barloworld) 24th @ 9:00 Jens VOIGT (CSC) 31st @ 13:59 Sylvain CHAVANEL (Cofidis) 33rd @ 16:52 Benoît VAUGRENARD (FDJ) 90th @ 1:03:52 Daniele BENNATI (Lampre) 103rd @ 1:14:14 Pierrick FEDRIGO (Bouygues Telecom) 116th @ 1:21:38 Heinrich HAUSSLER (Gerolsteiner) 137th @ 1:29:49 Nick NUYENS (Cofidis) 159th @ 1:38:25

  31. 144km - At the summit of the fourth category Côte de Calissanne, Siutsou crossed ahead of Fedrigo and Nuyens. That is the only climb of the day.

  32. 147km - This looks to be the break of the day, they have an advantage of 1:40 as Moreau rejoins the peloton.

  33. 150km - Christophe Moreau, sixth on GC, has crashed but is now back on his bike. He has suffered some nasty looking abrasions.

  34. 151km - At the first Intermediate Sprint at La-Fare-Les-Oliviers it was Bennati from Nuyens and Fedrigo with the peloton at 1:20.

  35. 157km - The 19 have been caught but the leading nine are persisting and are 50 seconds ahead of the main bunch.

  36. 165km - Voigt along with Arroyo, Haussler, Fedrigo, Chavanel, Nuyens, Bennati, Vaugrenard and Siutsou have a 1:20 lead over the peloton. The remaining 19 members of the intial escape are sandwiched in between.

  37. 176km - A group of 28 have launched an attack, no surprise that Jens Voigt and Juan Antonio Flecha are involved.

  38. 180km - Freddy Bichot (Agritubel) and Stephane Auge (Cofidis) launch an early attack but they are swiftly absorbed.

  39. 12:00 - 171 riders are in the neutral zone before the 182.5km 11th stage of the 2007 Tour. Will a breakaway survive or will the sprinters' teams chase it down on the flat terrain?
