McDonalds are set to commemorate Pep Guardiola’s summer arrival at Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich by launching a special sandwich in Bavaria.
The ‘Hot Pep Guardinator’ consists of a chicken schnitzel (breaded fillet), a slice of cheese and basic salad in a brown bread roll, with jalapenos and hot mustard and salsa thrown in for that fiery kick:
Not that Bayern are in need of much inflammation at the moment: with a 20-point league lead over defending champions Borussia Dortmund, the Bavarians can wrap up the title as soon as the next matchday on March 30, with seven games to spare.
Combined with active cup runs in the DFB-Pokal (semi-finals) and Champions League (quarter-finals), Pep’s key job in 2013-14 at the Allianz Arena may simply be to keep the current fire burning for as long as possible.
Those of you thinking a world-class football coach should be associated with something a little healthier should remember that the George Foreman Grill was, unfortunately for the former Barcelona boss, already taken.
And if Gareth Southgate, Stuart Pearce and Chris Waddle can enjoy a trip to Pizza Hut, who’s going to deny the Spaniard the occasional ‘HPG’ from the local ‘Maccy D’?
