Goalkeeper Michel Alves has been responsible for one of the strangest own goals of recent times in a second-tier match in Brazil.
The stopper, plying his trade for Criciuma against America Mineiro, had a busy afternoon, with his side slipping to a 4-0 defeat.
But he could have made life considerably easier for himself. Having made a comfortable low save with the score at 2-0, Alves rises to his feet, knocks the ball off his knee, and into the goal without a soul anywhere near him.
With the rest of the field having turned away expecting a big clearance up the pitch, it takes a while for everyone to realise what has happened - but once it does, the opposition cannot help themselves giggling.
