Shanteona Keys rose to fame earlier this week when she took a free-throw in a college basketball game that barely made it a third of the way to the basket.
But rather than shying away, the Georgia College junior decided to front up and explain to the Deadspin website exactly what had gone wrong.
"It actually happens to me a lot in practice," Keys told the site. "It's just never happened in a game before, with cameras rolling."
Keys is a far better shot than the video above suggests, and in fact she has a 78.4 per cent success rate from the line over the course of her career.
The problem is the way she settles herself before shooting: she sets herself up by holding the ball close to her face, with her thumb almost resting on her nose.
And on this occasion, her thumb was just that little bit too close.
"On that shot, I just followed through too close to my face," she said. "And my fingernail got caught on my nose, so I couldn't follow through correctly on the shot."
And now that's explained, all that's left is to decide is whether this free-throw attempt was worse than this one we brought you in December.
