Rounding up fans to try and win $1,000 by heaving a ball into the basket from half-court is a time-honoured tradition in the NBA.
But you've never seen one quite like this.
During half-time of the Atlanta Hawks' Friday night match against the Utah Jazz, a Hawks fan by the name of Kevin managed to get the ball stuck on the edge of the rim from half-court. Yep, right on the rim.
It's possible that the ball was slightly deflated from NBA standards, but repeat viewings suggest that this really was a one-in-a-million shot that got stuck in the corner wedge between the rim and the backboard.
The entire crowd cheered and ooohed, wondering whether or not Kevin would get the promised $1,000 despite not exactly getting the ball through the basket. That all changed, however, when the on-court MC leapt up to ping the ball free and delighted the crowd by managing to flip it in as he did so.
Fans entertained, Kevin leaves $1,000, and basketball fans across the world get a few seconds chuckling at the incredible shot.
