    Cheerleader lands incredible trick shot

The most incredible half-court shot of this year's college basketball season wasn't made by a player.

    It came from a cheerleader.

Ashlee Arnau, a cheerleader at William Carey University in Hattiesburg has tried to make a half court shot via a football-style flip throw-in at every home basketball game since Christmas.

She finally made it for the first time during halftime of Thursday night's game against Auburn-Montgomery, the final home game of the season for NAIA William Carey.

And you can see it from a second angle here.

"She has been close on several occasions but tonight she nailed it on senior night," William Carey sports information director DJ Pulley said late Thursday night via email. "Place went crazy."

If anyone would have the proper skill set to even attempt such a shot, it's Arnau, who is also a forward on William Carey's women's football team.

Combine a cheerleader's knack for tumbling and a footballer’s knowledge of a flip throw-in, and the result is one of the more unusual trick shots you'll ever see.
