Manchester United will win the Premier League by seven points this season according to our statistical partner Infostrada's Euro Club Index.
Their statistical model is based on the last four years of results and successfully predicted last season's Premier League top seven in the correct order and outperformed bookmakers' pre-season odds in its forecasts of the eventual points per club.
A further prediction in January 2013 predicted the exact points totals of both Manchester clubs.
Manchester United's chance of winning the title is 38 per cent and are seen as the clear favourites to win the title.
They are followed by Chelsea (18 per cent), Manchester City (17 per cent) and Arsenal (11 per cent). Those three are very closely matched according to the Euro Club Index and are the most likely to complete the top four at the end of the season.
At the other end of the table, newly promoted Crystal Palace and Hull City are expected to be relegated with Southampton joining them back in the 2014/2015 Championship.
The Euro Club Index scientifically analyses hundreds of thousands of matches from the top divisions in all European nations as well as Europa League and Champions League games to rank clubs from around Europe.
We will publish the latest Euro Club Index rankings every Tuesday throughout the season.
