Bentley Hints At Move

Sun 30 Mar, 01:09 PM

David Bentley has hinted his future may be away from Blackburn Rovers next season as European football is not on the cards.

The former Arsenal trainee has been linked with Liverpool recently, although manager Mark Hughes is under no pressure to sell the England international.

Blackburn have been trying to tie down Bentley on a new long-term, but, as yet, contract talks have failed to deliver a positive outcome.

Bentley has thanked Blackburn for their help in making him the player he is today, although that has not stopped him hinting his future may be away from Ewood Park.

"I owe so much to Blackburn," he told the Daily Star Sunday. "They have given me a platform - financially and to play every week.

"My contract is getting negotiated at the minute, but you never know what is round the corner.

"We need to be in Europe abut we are probably not going to make it - which is disappointing from a personal point of view."
