Ulf Emilsson, formerly a coach for Norway's downhill and giant slalom world champion Aksel Lund Svindal, has returned to Sweden to coach the women's speed team.

Emilsson replaces Stephan Kurz, who will now work with the German team, while Thomas Stauffer will continue to serve in the Alpine head coaching role he assumed last year.

Another previously Norway-based Swede, Anders Karlsson, returns home to work with the men's technical team.

Former Swedish women's coach Anders Sundqvist, one of the key organisers of the 2008 world championship in Are, meanwhile, has been named Alpine director in charge of marketing and media affairs.

Canada have also announced some major coaching moves, appointing Patrick Riml manager of the women's squad.

Riml has spent the past five seasons coaching the US team, ultimately helping Lindsey Vonn to claim the World Cup title last season.

Jim Pollock and Mark Sharp also rejoin Canada's women's World Cup coaching staff, with Dusan Grasic returning to take the reigns of the men's technical team.

Veteran coach Jim Tracy replaces Riml as coach of the Women's US team, while former Sweden coach Rudi Soulard and former US coach Trevor Wagner were named as the head men's and ladies' technical coaches respectively.

American men's World Cup champion Bode Miller, who races and trains as an independent, will work with a team led by Forest Carey and Swiss Fritz Züger.
