Bradley Johnson has given himself a head start on his Leeds team-mates by starting his pre-season training two weeks ahead of schedule.
Johnson and Gary McAllister's Leeds side were due to begin their summer programme at Thorp Arch next Friday but the 21-year-old midfielder will attend a training camp run by former Bradford midfielder Jamie Lawrence in London this week.
Johnson told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I've had my two weeks away, and I'm at the stage where I'm ready to get back into training.
"I've been working in south London with Jamie Lawrence and a few other players like Marvin Elliott and Jason Puncheon. It costs us to hire Jamie and to hire the facilities, but it's worth the money. The training keeps you in shape and helps to warm you up for pre-season.
"I don't know whether it will give me an edge over other players, but I know that I'll be going back as fit as I can be. This is my first pre-season with Leeds and I want to get as much out of it as possible."
